Join TME’s Powertrain R&D team to explore electric motor technologies for future vehicle powertrains. Research innovation, develop technical roadmaps, and evaluate sustainability and circularity aspects. Ideal for university students interested in electrification, automotive powertrains, and sustainability. Must have EEA/Swiss citizenship and be a student during the internship

Get to know your team and responsibilities

Team/division description

As part of TME R&D organization, the Powertrain Division is responsible for local development of powertrains for vehicles built in one of the TME production plants, and for planning and research of new European technologies. Latest focus points include electrification, big data and connectivity.

 

Your project

 

With increasing electrification in the automotive industry, electric motors play a crucial role in future powertrains. Your project is about investigating new electric motor technologies.

 

  • Innovation scouting through literature and patent landscaping
  • Make roadmaps for technical aspects of electric motors
  • Rate and summarize technology benefits and technical hurdles for industrialization
  • Focus on sustainability aspects of electric motors  (magnet LCA, ‘green e-steel’, insulation materials)
  • Investigate circularity potential (re-use, recycle, refurbish) materials and components

Who are we looking for?

Your profile

 

  • You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
  • You are interested in automotive powertrains
  • University student with at least 2 years of study already completed.
  • You are eager to dive into technical topics on electrified powertrains and able to summarize and explain complex technologies in simple keypoints.
  • Open personality and able to work independently in a multi-cultural business environment.

 

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

 

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
