Not just a car company

Working at Toyota Motor Europe doesn’t mean only manufacturing cars.
Our projects are a lot more diverse: we strive for mobility for all. Just like our technologies go way beyond cars, vans and trucks, our careers go way beyond what you would expect. Are you ready to shape the future of mobility with us?

Lead by example

Leaving no one behind

A truly diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace is not an ambition.
It’s our reality. We take steps forward every day, to make everyone feel safe and supported to realise their full potential. Whatever your gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, cultural background, nationality, race, ethnicity, religion or belief system, disability status, physical or mental capabilities, at Toyota, everybody matters.

A truly inclusive workplace

We don’t just say we’re a diverse organisation, we live it. Many projects are ongoing across our 20+ entities in Europe. Our facilities are inclusive and accessible, and we provide diversity training. In 2021, we held our first European Diversity Conference. Every year, we celebrate International Women’s Day with a week of activities, along with World Mental Health Day, Pride month, International Day of Persons with Disabilities and various other events.

Empowering employee networks

Our people drive change. The employee-led networks provide a warm and welcoming safe space for underrepresented communities and allies. They do fantastic work, raising awareness by organising events and activities, and advising DE&I policies. The networks are open for anyone to join. Whether you want to take an active role or simply support occasionally, we’d be happy to have you!

Optimistic about the future

The future doesn’t scare us, it drives us. Our mission is to create mobility for all, that generates happiness for all. We are committed to make ever-better vehicles that help everyone enjoy their lives to the fullest. Through our own Woven City, we have created a safe place for inventors to experiment with and improve their developments. The society of the future has never been more real.

The road to zero

We are not just producing environmentally friendly cars. We are expanding the meaning of ‘movement’. In our transformation from an automobile company to a mobility company, sustainability is pivotal. We work on several fronts, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and our own Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050.

Environmental Challenge 2050

Today, we already minimise carbon emissions by offering a wide range of electrified vehicles. In Europe, we are working towards eliminating all CO2 emissions by 2040, and worldwide by 2050. We are also committed to take measures towards water preservation, a recycled-based economy and biodiversity.

Pioneers in electrification

For over 25 years, we have pioneered in the development of electric vehicles. We launched the first mass-produced hybrid car, the Prius, in 1997. We don’t race for quick wins, but make sure our technology is best-in-class. That’s our tried-and-tested method, up to today.

Live & breathe Kaizen. Live & breathe Kaizen. Live & breathe Kaizen. Live & breathe Kaizen. Live & breathe Kaizen. Live & breathe Kaizen. Live & breathe Kaizen. Live & breathe Kaizen. Live & breathe Kaizen. Live & breathe Kaizen. Live & breathe Kaizen.

Kaizen is a Japanese way of working and stands for continuous improvement. We apply this to everything we do. We are always on the lookout for the next change for the better, even if it seems a tiny one. That’s how we move forward, together. Thanks to Kaizen, your personal and professional growth will skyrocket.

How it started

Our story in Europe started with a small number of imported vehicles that were brought here from Japan in the early 1960s. Since we figured that building clean cars in Europe, for Europe is necessary to protect the environment, we have fully invested in factories and offices over here. Sites that are world pioneers in effective ways to reduce waste, conserve natural resources and minimise emissions. Will you join us?

What our
colleagues say

Even after 20 years at Toyota, I still get new challenges. I already had the opportunity to change functions multiple times within the quality department. And even within the same area, in the current times of automotive transformation, there are always so many new things to discover.
Denis Santarossa, Senior Engineer
To me, working at Toyota means being part of an incredibly diverse, global team where I always feel at home, never like an outsider. As a Vehicle Performance Engineer, I get to contribute to Toyota’s mission of innovation, working on exciting projects in automated driving and collaborating with colleagues worldwide - from Japan to North America.
Andrea Lazcano, Engineer
Kaizen means continuous improvement. Huge breakthroughs don't come all the time; however we can still create a meaningful impact through regular, small advancements. It's a matter of mindset. At Toyota, we always think of problems to solve. And if you cannot see any problem, than that's the problem. Through endless change and progress, we stay on top of competition.
