Team/division description
The Materials Engineering division in Toyota Motor Europe is responsible for the research and development of new materials and analytical techniques for emerging technologies. Particularly we examine topics which work towards reducing the environmental impact of our vehicles. One of our key topics is the development of sustainable fuels, such as green hydrogen or carbon neutral hydrocarbons from the conversion of carbon dioxide, through electrochemical methods.
Our team aims at searching for and integrating European unique and advanced technology into final products to strengthen Toyota’s future products.
Your project
We are now offering a position to develop catalyst technologies for water splitting (hydrogen production) and carbon dioxide conversion.
The activity will include:
- Synthesis of hydrogen evolution, oxygen evolution and carbon dioxide conversion catalysts through a variety of techniques
- Preparation of membrane electrode assemblies
- Screening the catalysts through electrochemical benchtop tests
- Testing the highest performing catalysts in an electrolyser
- Literature review of the latest developments
