Team description

 

Toyota Motor Europe R&D Centre is responsible for:

  •  Developing vehicles and making concept proposal for EU core models
  •  Reflecting EU technology to Toyota Vehicles timely by utilizing location advantage and strong network with EU partners.

Electronics Engineering Design Division is responsible for the design & installation of Body Electronics parts (Instrument cluster, switches, …) and Multimedia parts (Radio, speakers, …) for European vehicles from concept phase to serial production.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Design and develop EE parts in order to achieve performance, quality and cost targets
  • Investigate & define necessary hardware requirements for power electronics components(EV control unit, Battery management system…)
  • Define functional requirements according to functional safety ISO26262
  • Creation and maintenance of hardware, software, mechanical and electrical part specifications
  • Layout EE parts in the vehicle and prepare installation + production drawings (2D & 3D)
  • Co-operate with suppliers and Toyota stakeholders to secure production feasibility of parts
  • Secure regulation compliance and collaborate with Homologation department
  • Support plant production and quality engineers to solve the concerns raised during production trials or mass production
  • Benchmark competitors’ products & propose ideas for product and cost improvement

 

Who are we looking for?

Your profile

  • You are fluent in English (TME business language)
  • You have a master in Electromechanics or Electronics Engineering
  • You have good people (soft) skills and can comfortably discuss / negotiate with other stakeholders internally and externally
  • You have multiple experience in the development of Electromechanical/Electronic parts in a professional environment and a 2-year or longer experience in automotive engineering
  • You have displayed strong leadership in difficult situations and are resilient to perform under pressure when urgencies occur
  • You have a strong quality mindset and think critically to find root causes
  • You have on-the-job experience with following:
    • Design FMEA
    • ISO26262 (functional safety)
    • Model writing and- simulation (tools such as Matlab/Simulink)
    • Programming language such as Python
    • CAN bus measurements (tools such as CANoe)
    • In-vehicle electrical measurements (oscilloscopes, etc.)
    • CAD design and simulation with tools such as Catia
  • You are passionate about the automotive sector and have a genuine interest in industrial engineering
  • You are able to travel for business on occasional basis
