Team description

Production Engineering Division in Toyota Motor Europe is responsible for the introduction of new vehicle models into the Toyota manufacturing plants within Europe. Within Production Engineering our department supports the Plastic Parts development by doing the new vehicle planning, Design For Manufacture as well as supporting the new vehicle set up at the Production facility. We collaborate with various departments including Styling, Design and the Production plant and we introduce the new tooling and equipment for mass production.

 

Your responsibilities

You lead the project from design stage all the way through mass production for new vehicle projects with key responsibilities as follows:

  • Working together with the design department to find innovative ways to be able to make vehicle Styling a reality
  • Design for manufacture - developing the Plastic parts ready for mass production
  • New tooling development - specification writing, toolmaker selection, tooling design approval and trial management
  • Troubleshooting problems on newly introduced Plastic parts
  • Working together with Purchasing department in selecting the best suppliers involving the relevant business partners in the design and manufacture of the new equipment.
  • Benchmarking new technologies and materials and support their evaluation and implementation to mass production
  • Support to achieve the Circular Economy and Carbon Neutral targets of the department

Who are we looking for?

Your profile

  • You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
  • Minimum 3 years University or Engineering school in Materials Science, Mechanical design, Polymer Engineering, Industrial engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Plastic part design is an asset.
  • Highly motivated individual with 2+ years experience in a similar role
  • Strong planning and project managements skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Self starter capable to work under minimum instruction/supervision.
  • Owner of driving license.
  • Flexible and willing to travel up to 10% internationally.
  • Open to an international assignment (Japan, North America or within Europe).
