Team description

 

TME’s Data, Privacy & AI Legal Team sits within the Legal & Compliance Division. We act as trusted strategic partners to business and technical teams, ensuring our products and operations comply with evolving European privacy and data regulations.

 

The broader Legal & Compliance Division is a highly international, fast‑moving team that collaborates closely with internal business partners. It advises on a variety of topics, including: corporate law, IP and IT law, brand protection, competition law, contract law, product liability, data protection and privacy law, environmental law and regulatory matters.

 

Your responsibilities

 

We are looking for a legal counsel with demonstrated expertise in European privacy & data protection law, and ideally an interest in Digital regulation. A good understanding of IT system is an asset but can be learned on the job.

 

You will provide pragmatic legal guidance supporting our digital, connected and data‑driven activities. Your main responsibilities include:

 

  • Acting as a trusted partner to business teams in developing and implementing new products and services
  • Providing hands‑on support to divisions managing personal data
  • Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing data processing agreements (DPAs), joint controller agreements, and related documentation
  • Driving privacy by design activities, conducting risk assessments, and defining mitigation measures
  • Supporting the management of personal data incidents and related risks
  • Contributing to vendor due diligence, contracts, and audits
  • Delivering internal training and raising awareness on data protection responsibilities
  • Developing and improving policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
  • Staying informed about evolving legislation, landmark case law, regulator guidances and regulatory developments

 

You will also work directly with affiliated and non‑affiliated distributors and manufacturing companies across Europe.

 

Who are we looking for?

Your profile

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Law and bring 3–5 years of experience from a law firm or a large multinational environment.
  • You know European law and may be admitted to a European Bar, which is considered a plus.
  • You have solid expertise in European privacy & data protection law, and ideally an interest in digital regulation.
  • You provide clear, pragmatic and concise legal advice, supported by strong analytical, drafting and negotiation skills.
  • You communicate fluently in English, and speaking Dutch is a clear advantage.
  • You work comfortably in a multicultural team, acting as a reliable team player who builds trust easily.
  • You show a proactive and solution‑driven mindset, able to manage different priorities with professionalism and discretion.
  • You stay curious and eager to learn, especially in evolving regulatory domains.
  • You may bring experience with IT systems or the automotive/manufacturing sector, but this is not required.
