The Purchasing team at Toyota Motor Europe can offer you this challenge. Located in the heart of Europe, Indirect Purchasing plays a key strategic role in the development of our future products and services. As a buyer you will develop and manage all aspects of the commercial relationship between Toyota and its suppliers for IT and Connected Vehicle Services. This position will allow you to have an insight into the most recent technical innovations and will enable you to get a deep understanding of how a leading multinational operates and interacts with numerous internal and external parties.

Your responsibilities

• Develop and implement category and sourcing strategies in areas like Information Technology and Connected Vehicle Services, covering hardware, software and services across Europe
• Negotiate with our suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, based on specifications required
• Challenge specifications and demand requirements with internal stakeholders to drive value and optimize total cost of ownership
• Manage all commercial issues related to your portfolio of responsibility
• Make appropriate supplier selection recommendations to senior management
• Develop comprehensive understanding of technological market trends
• Work with Global Toyota Purchasing. You will develop category strategies at regional level and have direct input towards global strategies

Who are we looking for?

Your profile

• You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
• Hold a university degree or equivalent higher education in Business, Economics, Purchasing
• Have at least 18 months of professional work experience (excl. internships)
• Bring experience in indirect procurement, including IT hardware, software, digital services, and/or Connected Vehicle services; alternatively, possess strong procurement capabilities combined with a genuine interest for technology-driven categories
• Are results driven and able to break down complex issues into manageable portions
• Have good communication, negotiation and presentation skills
• Demonstrate highly developed analytical skills, accuracy and reliability
• Can work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary teams
• Possess strong planning, prioritization and organizational skills
• Are computer literate (MS Excel, PowerPoint)
• Are willing to travel up to 20% as required
