About this job

This internship involves implementing and analyzing an Autonomous Emergency Braking model to assess injury reduction performance using a simulation toolchain. You’ll spend 80% of your time on model implementation, validation, and analysis, with 20% focused on documentation. Strong skills in Matlab/Simulink, Python, and interest in ADAS are key.

Get to know your team and responsibilities

Within Electronics Engineering division, ADAS group oversees the development and evaluation the future ADAS functions (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), focusing on our customer comfort and safety. Those systems, e.g., Toyota Safety Sense, are using sensors such as camera, radar, ultrasonic devices.

 

As intern, you will be supporting the development of a simulation toolchain to validate the injury reduction performance of active safety systems. Your role will be:

  • Implementation of a generic Autonomous Emergency Braking model (the model is already available).
  • Simulating the injury reduction performance of this model on a reconstructed accident database using an existing simulation toolchain.
  • Analysing the injury reduction performance of this model.
  • You will spend about 80% of your time on the model implementation, validation and analysing the simulation results. Around 20% of your time will be spend on documenting your project.

Who are we looking for?

Your profile

  • You are fluent in English (TME’s business language).
  • You are enrolled into a master in computer science (embedded software), electronics engineering, or automotive engineering.
  • You have interest in ADAS and active safety systems.
  • You have already developed your programming skills (Matlab/Simulink and python).

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

 

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

 

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
