Join Toyota’s Parts Supply Chain Group in Diest, supporting international and retail transport flows of spare parts across Europe and North Africa. You’ll provide operational support, contribute to projects like waste reduction and container tracking, assist invoice settlement, and drive process improvements—using strong communication, analytical skills, and teamwork.

Team/division description

 

You will be part of Operations Control Division, Operations Management Transportation department.

Our Mission is being a high-performing, engaged, dynamic, skilled, and self-managing Toyota-team, organising and managing international & retail transports to deliver parts and accessories to the regional warehouses and facing dealers, in a cost efficient manner with minimal impact on environment and safety, exceeding our Customers & Stakeholders expectations.

 

  • Your area of responsibility will be our International & Retail (last mile) transport flows of Toyota & Lexus Spare Parts and Accessories
  • Your core tasks will be:
    • Day-to-day Operational support within our Retail team
    • Support of below projects to both International and Retail team:
      • BR-T (Business Reform Transformation): support our waste reduction activity within transportation by data-gathering and processing of data through gemba-activities
      • Shippeo: analysis of provided data to support introduction of our new container tracking-tool called “Shippeo”
      • Study of TPCE pré-parking usage by data-gathering and processing of data through gemba-activities
      • Support the introduction of a Ticketing system within Retail for Customer-complaints
      • Support with the monthly settlement of transport invoices

Your profile

Education level: Bachelor degree or higher

    • Achieving project output in-time is key for you and you want to drive the business to achievement.  In order to make this happen, you take initiative, and you know how and when to push/escalate for result whilst maintaining good stakeholder relationship
    • You take initiative and have the courage to pull people together and coordinate activities towards success.
    • Open to get & give feedback through frequent and efficient alignment-meetings
    • You enjoy working in a team and understand that diverse personalities & perspectives provide better solutions.
    • You see challenges as a development opportunity and demonstrate flexibility when required by the team or business.
    • Functionally you have a strong knowledge of Office 365 applications (excel, access, PBI), ERP system or OTM applications.
    • Challenging thinking ivo admin/non-value adding processes.  Interest/skills ivo automation is a plus.
    • Toyota is a fact based company and kaizen is our DNA, hence you will need to switch between analytical and creative thinking.
    • Ability to translate findings into concrete proposals/actions
    • As the scope is broad, strong planning and organisation, with clear focus, will be needed to be in charge of your own journey and to take action with minimal direction.
    • Agile to learn new culture, skill, and knowledge as environment, society and customer’s requirements change rapidly.
    • A good sense of humour, a great work ethic and the will to create fun at work

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

 

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

 

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
