Sustainability and ESG Management Group mission is to improve structurally the management of our contribution to society, fostering a culture of sustainable development at Toyota in Europe.  This group acts as a central hub within the TME organisation to support strategy development and centrally coordinate sustainability and ESG related activities across the company and externally.

Sustainable development means meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, and it is linked to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals defined by United Nations. ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) and refers to the three central factors in measuring the sustainability and societal impact of an investment in a company or business.

Toyota has a long tradition of innovation towards sustainability: the Environmental Challenge 2050 is an example of our ambition in this area. This group aims at reinforcing the strategy for sustainable development and improve our ESG performance, identifying the priorities and engaging with all stakeholders for a positive impact.
