Team/division description
Toyota Motor Europe’s Materials Engineering division offers a Master’s project focused on developing semiconductor nanomaterials for photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical water splitting to produce green hydrogen. Tasks include thin-film preparation, co-catalyst development, solar-driven testing, material characterization, and literature research, supporting sustainable fuel technologies and low-impact future vehicle innovation.
Your project
We are now offering a position to develop semiconductors for photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical water splitting (hydrogen production) as part of a European-funded project, PH2OTOGEN.
The activity will include:
- Preparation of nanomaterials and deposition as thin films
- Development of co-catalysts to promote hydrogen evolution and oxidation reactions
- Photoelectrochemical and photocatalytic testing under simulated solar irradiation
- Characterisation through UV-vis spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction etc.
- Literature survey and discussion with our collaborators
