About this job

As a compliance specialist on hazardous materials, you ensure that Toyota Motor Europe (TME) Parts Supply Chain group (PSCG), located in Diest (Belgium), complies with new and existing legislative requirements, as well as internal policies and by-laws.

 

In addition, as dangerous goods safety advisor (DGSA), you provide your expertise on the safe transport of dangerous goods, including proper handling, labelling, and documentation related to the transportation of hazardous materials.

The team’s mission is to create a roadmap, procedures and to introduce adequate tools into the organisation, in order to drive and support sustainability and compliance within PSCG.

Your responsibilities

  • Your responsibilities

     

    1. As dangerous goods safety advisor, you are responsible for:

     

    • Monitor legislative requirements and assess the impact on PSCG operations in order to achieve 100% legal compliance, more specifically related to:

     

    . the classification of hazardous materials

     

    . determining the appropriate packaging and labelling

     

    . ensuring that the transport documentation is complete and accurate

     

    • Prepare the annual dangerous goods safety report

     

    • Prepare and ensure that employees involved in the transportation of dangerous goods are properly trained

     

     

    1. As hazmat specialist you are responsible for:

     

    • Ensuring legal compliance towards the EU Regulation on Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP), focussing on safety data sheet management system

     

    • Monitoring the extension of the EU CLP Regulatory framework to other regions, such as Turkey (KKDIK) and Russia (GOST)

     

    • Setting-up and managing the in-house operational hazmat spill-procedures, ensuring that employees involved in the handling of hazardous materials are properly trained

     

    • Participating in EU business association and internal working groups, such as the TME chemical management task force, and the automotive manufacturers transport of dangerous good working group

     

    • Managing external consultant(s) that will assist you in achieving the above indicate targets

Who are we looking for?

Your profile

 For TME Graduate positions we are targeting recent University Graduates (less than 18 months of experience excluding internships)

    • You are fluent in English (TME’s business language) and Dutch

     

    • You have a certificate as a dangerous goods safety advisor (DGSA), or are willing to obtain such a certificate after having followed the mandatory trainings and examinations

     

    • You have experience in the field of:
    • The EU chemical regulatory framework
    • Dealing with hazmat spill procedures

     

    •  You have experience working in:
    • A logistics work environment
    • The automotive sector (seen as an asset, not a must)

     

    • You have strong project management skills and an eye to identify critical issues, enabling you to work independently,

     

    • Strong knowledge on Office 365 applications
