Toyota Motor Europe’s Materials Engineering division develops advanced, sustainable materials. This project focuses on creating semiconductor materials for photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical hydrogen production. Tasks include nanomaterial synthesis, thin-film deposition, co-catalyst development, solar-irradiation testing, material characterization, and collaboration. Ideal candidates are English-speaking master students with electrochemistry and materials science knowledge.
Team/division description
The Materials Engineering division at Toyota Motor Europe is responsible for investigating and developing new materials and analytical techniques for emerging technologies. The division focuses on new technologies to reduce the environmental impact of Toyota vehicles. One area of work is developing sustainable fuels, including green (solar) hydrogen produced via photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical processes.
The team identifies and incorporates advanced European technologies into products with the goal of supporting the development of future Toyota vehicles.
Your project
We are now offering a position to develop semiconductors for photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical water splitting (hydrogen production) as part of a European-funded project, PH2OTOGEN.

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.
